About

With a focus on serving the academic technology needs of the entire University, ULTA meets the growing need to assess and advise on the future of academic technology and to find the best place where technology and pedagogy meet.

Created as a direct recommendation from the Academic Technology FCoP,  the ULTA group is composed of 28 faculty representatives from across the University and a limited group of central technology and learning representatives.

This group's main goal is to formally evaluate new technology opportunities, while maintaining an awareness of their teaching and learning implications across each college and system campus. In addition, each technology is evaluated based the long-term development and integration requirements.

Process

The goal of ULTA is to evaluate learning technology. As proposals come in from individuals, colleges or departments, they will be fully investigated and additional research will be conducted as needed with key stakeholders such as OIT, Local AT, Libraries, and DRC to determine needs, demands and options.

Formal presentations and reviews will take place throughout the year, and the projects that are approved based on a majority vote will be passed to University decision-makers for consideration.
